About the journal

Intellectual property as an argument, not only an asset

Acta Juris Proprietatis Intellectualis will publish scholarship that takes intellectual property law seriously as doctrine, as an institutional achievement, and as a form of practical reason.

The journal welcomes work in the tradition of intellectual property doctrine—authorship and originality, patentability and disclosure, marks and fair competition, trade secrets and remedies—as well as scholarship that situates intellectual property law in its social, economic, and historical context. It will publish comparative intellectual property law, the history of patents and copyright, and work that crosses disciplinary boundaries.

The journal is being developed as an independent, international forum. It is committed to careful editorial work, serious engagement with argument, and scholarship that is accessible to readers across jurisdictions and traditions.
