About the journal

Social law as an argument, not only a safety net

Acta Juris Socialis will publish scholarship that takes social law seriously as doctrine, as an institutional achievement, and as a form of practical reason.

The journal welcomes work in the tradition of social law—employment relations and the contract of work, social security and pensions, welfare and housing, equality and non-discrimination—as well as scholarship that situates social law in its social, economic, and historical context. It will publish comparative social law, the history of labour and social legislation, and work that crosses disciplinary boundaries.

The journal is being developed as an independent, international forum. It is committed to careful editorial work, serious engagement with argument, and scholarship that is accessible to readers across jurisdictions and traditions.
